Parish Pastoral Council
A group of parishioners elected to help develop the Parish as a Christian community.
Liturgical Ministries
Altar Preparation: families are rostered on monthly to prepare the altar for Mass and ensure all liturgical ministers have arrived.
Altar Servers: assist at Sunday Masses every 2-3 weeks.
Altar Society: takes care of the Sanctuary and Sacristy.
Children's Liturgy: a parallel form of the Liturgy of the Word is offered for primary school children at the 9am and 10.30am Mass each Sunday.
Eucharistic Ministers: assist with the distribution of the Eucharist at Sunday and weekday Masses and take Communion to the sick and housebound.
Musicians/Cantors: organises music groups for Sunday Mass.
Readers: two readers are rostered on each weekend Mass to proclaim the Liturgy of the Word.
Wardens: organise the collection of money for weekend Masses
Pious Goods Store: opens after 7:30am, 9:00am and 10.30am Masses on Sunday please contact Parish Office if you need it open during Business Hours.
Faith Formation
Bible Studies: informal small discussion, prayer and sharing.
Catechists: assist with faith education classes in government primary schools.
Parish Library: excellent books, tapes and videos for borrowing.
Prayer Group: to learn about and experience new forms of prayer
RCIA: a faith journey for adults considering joining our Catholic community (in small groups).
RCIC: a faith journey for children and their families joining our Catholic community.
Social Justice group: concerned with social justice issues in society.
Youth Ministries
St Agatha's Young Adults: small groups meeting for dinner and discussion for people 18-35
Aggies Yr 7 - 9 Youth Fellowship: meet fortnightly on Friday evening.
Youth Group (Yr 10+): meet fortnightly after the Sunday evening Mass.
Renewal, Prayer & Spirituality
Indonesian Mass: a monthly Mass and celebration with the Indonesian Community.
Prayer Circle: an intercessory prayer group.
Rosary: a rosary based prayer group held weekly in parishioner's homes.
Cenacle: rosary and other devotions
Mission Beyond Parish
Matthew Talbot Hostel: feeds many homeless men in the inner city every day.
St Vinnies Food Van: region takes food and coffee to homeless people on the streets in the Parramatta area.
Special Support and Concern
Families with Disabilities: a support group for people with a disability, their families and friends.
Getting to Know You: social visit to those wishing companionship, to those in hospital, and/or those requiring the occasional helping hand (e.g. transport to parish activities).
Friendship Group: Meets on the 4th Thursday of the month to bring together the frail aged and housebound residents of the Pennant Hills area for enjoyment and friendship. Entertainment and a light lunch will be provided.
New Parishioners: a personal welcome and co-ordination of functions for new parishioners.
St Vincent de Paul: helps those in need on a personal basis.
Welcome Group: greet parishioners at our liturgies.
Social Groups
Family Groups: groups of families gather once a month to enjoy a social occasion and gradually to develop supportive relationships.
Gathering Point: a weekly get-together for senior members of our parish.
Majellan Play Group (0-4 yrs): for the children it is a time for play and craft activities; for the parents an opportunity for conversation and companionship.
55 & Over Group: We meet once a month for social outings, walks and other activities. Details are in the parish bulletin.
Communication
The Bulletin: the weekly newsletter of the parish.
General Parish Care and Maintenance
Finance Committee: is appointed by the Parish Priest to assist in the financial management of the Parish.
Money Counters: process envelopes and Sunday Mass collections each week.
